Verdict
A useful chase for this time of year, with the top weight Ikrenel Royal rated 131. Nicky Henderson's charge, a dual winner in France, made a bright start to his chasing career in this country when handing out a healthy beating to the useful Crocadee. However, he has struggled since and it remains to be seen whether this trip is what he needs. Tom's Prize is tough and genuine, stays well, and will again be partnered by the champion, who is unbeaten on him. He gets the vote in an open contest. Phillip Hobbs is represented by Simber Hill, three times a winner over fences. However, he is a horse who needs everything to go right for him and there is a suspicion he may find this too competitive.
