In depth

Verdict

Martin Pipe's Scarlet Mix is relatively lightly raced and is taken to win his first handicap at the main expense of Sunley Future and Golden Chalice. The last mentioned showed improved form when beating Cansalrun by four lengths at Taunton last month but faces a stiffer task off a 10lb higher mark today. The Ian Williams-trained Meadow Hawk has a nice racing weight and stepped up on previous form when a close third behind Alva Glen at Wincanton last time and has to be respected along with Nicky Henderson's Sunley Future, although the stable's poor form is of concern. Top Achiever has more to do than when winning at Bangor last time and of more interest may be Hot Lips Page. Nick Littmoden's gelding is closely matched with Sunley Future on running at Huntingdon last month and should be suited by this sharp track. Scarlet Mix has proven handicap form having chased home the well-handicapped Torkinking at Haydock when last seen in February. With more improvement to come, the son of Linamix gets the vote.
