In depth

Verdict

Sea Map can make the most of this step up in trip to open his account at the expense of Longueville Manor, Smilingvalentine and Hi Humpfree. We have been following the fortunes of Don Cantillon's Sea Map closely, and fancied him to score at Worcester a fortnight ago, but he was slightly hampered three out, and in the end was well held by Grand Slam Hero. He is on the upgrade though, and this further step up in trip will hopefully reap dividends. Longueville Manor made plenty of mistakes when eventually falling two out over fences at Newton Abbot last time, and is put back over hurdles now. A clear round will boost his confidence and he should not be underestimated. Smilingvalentine has more to do than when landing a seller at Ludlow but at least has winning form to his name, while Hi Humpfree looked the part when making all at Aintree but has topweight as a consequence. For the winner we return to Sea Map.
