Overbranch, Arctic Magic and Felinious form our short-list in this competitive heat with Overbranch preferred. Malcolm Jefferson's charge contested the prestigious mares' final at Newbury on her latest start but patently failed to handle the testing conditions and was pulled up before two out. She'd been in good form prior to that when faced with this sort of test and remains feasibly handicapped. Felinious has to be feared as she appears to be the type that the handicapper could struggle to collar as she only does enough. Fitness is unlikely to be an issue for this progressive mare and she has to be feared. Arctic Magic finished fourth in the mare's race at Newbury which was a thoroughly respectable effort but it remains to be seen how much that race took out of her. She did run well over this course and distance on her penultimate start though and should be involved if at her best. One or two others merit consideration but these three make most appeal to our eye and Overbranch gets the vote.
