Verdict

Penny Pictures has not won for some time but did at least show a sign of still retaining ability when fourth in a Fontwell seller earlier this month but David Pipe's gelding faces no easy task here against the consistent THE WOODEN SPOON, who is hard to oppose despite the weight that he has to carry and he gets the vote with Cantabilly rated the best of the rest. The selection looked beaten when falling at Chepstow last month but that was in a handicap and earlier form in that grade makes him hard to beat in this company. George Baker's Oujamaflip has not progressed as much as may have been anticipated and looks best watched with a bigger threat likely to come from recent Ludlow winner Super Ross, although his penalty for that success makes this more difficult. Devito has claims on the form shown when a fair third at Taunton three starts ago but he has not run to a similar level of form in two outings since then so looks best watched. Cantabilly is well treated judged by official BHA ratings but he is not certain to stay this far and preference is for The Wooden Spoon, who is taken to resume winning ways.
