In depth

Verdict

Lord Jay Jay, La Grande Villez and O'Toole make the shortlist here, and Lord Jay Jay may be the one to lead them home. O'Toole ran up a quick hat trick of chase successes during the winter and ran respectably after a four month lay off last time. He has climbed the handicap as a result of those wins, but should prove sharper after that recent run. La Grande Villez has shaped well on his four recent chasing starts, and was an unlucky faller two outings ago when holding every chance. His trainer is keen to find the right opportunity for him-he was withdrawn from a race on Thursday at Worcester, and he looks sure to run a big race. A winner at Ascot and Fontwell, Lord Jay Jay advertised his well being with a solid run at Aintree last time, and although raised five pounds, a similar effort here would see him take this. Lord Jay Jay can win again.
