In depth

Verdict

Desert Lover, Ardmaddy and Colton make the shortlist here with Colton taken to win at a nice price. Desert Lover won well at Ludlow last time but that was only in selling grade. He looks thoroughly exposed, and though his confidence has been lifted, he looks set to find this contest too tough. A winner on the Flat at Wolverhampton in February, Ardmaddy has shaped well in two maiden hurdles, being placed on each occasion. He looks sure to go well. Twice a winner on the Flat, Colton has shaped well on two recent visits to Huntingdon, and in between was well beaten in good contests at major tracks. He looks capable of playing a leading role here, and Colton is taken to score for the first time over hurdles.
