Verdict

After winning at Fontwell in June, Mount Haven was a bit disappointing when only fourth in a bumper at Worcester earlier this month. Gold Man looks a better bet having made a winning start under Rules at Towcester. He won over 3m between the flags so the longer trip won't be a problem. Knight's Reward is already a course winner but we're inclined to take a chance on VELVET COGNAC Another recruit from point-to-points, he hails from a yard in terrific form and one very capable of readying their charges at home. Mr Burbidge has been a prolific winner on the all-weather but has yet to impress so far over jumps.
