Verdict

Jabiru can land this race for the second year running, with Ask The Natives, Chef Tartare, Kerstino Two and Raregem all worth a mention as well. Jabiru has been a standing dish in this contest, and having finished third in two successive previous runnings, he came good last year. His task was made easier by the early departure of the favourite Kerstino Two, but he did it well and showed his well being with a win between the flags just over three weeks ago. Ask The Natives was fairly useful for Paul Nicholls and has won two hunter-chases for Chloe Roddick. He did not go to Aintree last year but that target may be on the agenda this time round, depending on how he shapes up. Chef Tartare is another ex-Paul Nicholls inmate who has his first run under rules for Kate Waldron. He might be best watched. Kerstino Two is fit from a restrained effort behind the useful Drombeag at Huntingdon and will no doubt attract support again, while Raregem beat a poor lot at Leicester last time and has much more to do. The finger points to Jabiru.
