In depth

Verdict

Midsummer Magic finished third on her racecourse debut behind stable companion Ravello Bay, the form of which has worked out particularly well. Although a fair way behind the front two, they both appeared above average while the fourth has since won. With that experience under her belt she should be capable of going very close. Moleskin comes from a yard that do particularly well in these events and was well supported to land a Newbury bumper on his racecourse debut. The form of that event has yet to be tested but first impressions were that it was decent, with the sole winner in the contest well behind admittedly after racing too freely. Bob 'N' You was noted doing his best work at Sandown. The winner of that contest ran well in the Cheltenham bumper but the placed horses have failed to score since. Earth Dream disappointed in what was very deep ground at the Chepstow Christmas festival. Quicker ground conditions should suit, however, although finishing second on his debut they did finish in quite a bunch and the form is suspect. Midsummer's Magic shaped with some promise at Fakenham and is taken to land the finale.
