In depth

Verdict

This better ground should suit Leicester runner-up Clowance House and his stable is in cracking form. Briefcase was third at Plumpton last month while His Lordship finished second to the smart Al Ferof over a longer trip here on his hurdling debut last month, though was beaten 20 lengths. But they all have to give weight to some promising four-year-olds, most notably BRAMPOUR. Paul Nicholls' gelding won twice on the Flat in his native France and was only beaten a short neck in a Listed contest at Deauville last summer. Sure to have learned plenty from his third to Kazzene at Kempton, he can get off the mark here ahead of newcomer First In The Queue and the David Pipe pair Qalinas and Trop Fort.
