In depth

Verdict

Ballyegan was disappointing yesterday at Hereford. Bally Lagan has dropped to a reasonable mark but couldn’t justify favouritism at Hexham in October. Water Wagtail had been struggling prior to outstaying modest rivals at Plumpton last month and won’t be helped here by a 6lb higher mark. EDEIFF’S LAD has only won over 2m under Rules but was placed over this course and distance at the start of last year and he only found an in-form rival too strong at Wincanton last week. Carobello is also running well enough to get involved.
