Verdict

WATERGATE BAY makes his racecourse debut here and the half-brother to winning stablemate Fistral Beach may well be good enough to score at the first time of asking. Paul Nicholls sent out The Nightingale to win this in the same colours in 2008 and his charge is preferred to fellow newcomer Whistling Senator. True Blue started favourite for a bumper back in May, but could only manage fourth and has his first start over hurdles here, along with Monturgeon. Rob Conti has disappointed so far over timber and was well beaten at Hereford recently.
