Manofthemountain won small-field novices' handicaps at Newton Abbot and Southwell before unseating his rider at the 10th over this track and trip in a race where Putdecashonthedash was narrowly beaten into fifth. Shaughnessy was well beaten on his chasing bow at Chepstow and Du Destin was 25 lengths behind the winner at Southwell though arrives from a yard in top form. ELITE GARDE went up 12lb for an impressive winning debut over fences at Huntingdon but then won with a bit in hand at Leicester. He's up another 6lb but a hat-trick beckons. Sizing Cusimano hasn't run badly in slightly better company in his two starts over fences.
