        Verdict

        Despite starting 20/1 when scoring at York, MAGICAL MAX attracted some support in the market and it wasn't misplaced as he stayed on very gamely to get the better of what looked a decent field. Mark Walford's grey will need to improve again under a penalty on this quicker ground but there's every chance he'll do so and he can take care of Spring Bloom, who was a bit disappointing at Hamilton after a very promising debut at Leicester. What A Business hasn't been beaten far in three of his four runs and ran well on his first start for Roger Fell at Ripon while Sweet Joanna is very speedily-bred and Azure World is a half-sister to a couple of two-year-old winners.
