        Verdict

        ROBERT GUISCARD contested a useful novice stakes at Newmarket on his second start and this rates a step-down in grade. Only beaten just over a couple of lengths on debut, the son of Exceed And Excel could well bounce back in what looks a fairly ordinary contest. Le Chiffre, clearly in need of the experience when a decent fourth on debut at Musselburgh, is one of the more likely ones here with improvement assured and is seen as a lively danger along with Internationaltiger, who came forward from his debut run with a useful effort in a large-field affair at Leicester. Borsdane Wood should come on for his debut and Melody King is a newcomer to note.
