The once very-useful BARNEY MCGREW, a Group 3 winner at his peak, suffers the ignominy of being dropped into plating company for the first time on his 81st start. He was only beaten a nose in a Class 4 handicap at Newcastle in August so hopefully can get back to winning ways. Centre Haafhd is top-rated and another to be engaged at this lowly level for the first time, though his two victories have been on very fast ground. Majestic Manannan completes the trio who drop into this company and though he's become inconsistent he won a Class 5 handicap at Pontefract in July though that was also on quick going. Ortac Rock won a claimer on Tapeta at Wolverhampton in January but was beaten in a Lingfield seller the previous month.
