In depth

Verdict

THAWRY is 0-10 on Turf but won at Wolverhampton two runs ago and handles give in the ground. He’s probably still on a fair mark and this won’t take much winning. Global Exceed didn’t really take to the all-weather in the autumn and could figure if a return to this surface rekindles enthusiasm as he can’t get much lower in the weights. Smeaton has placed on a few occasions so is another to consider while Scorched Breath found only one too good in this grade at Chelmsford last week and The Big House placed at Newcastle at the start of the month.
