      Verdict

      If Vicious Prince were capable of putting in the sort of performance he is capable of he will be very hard to get past here and, as such, is narrowly preferred over Captain Clipper and Lawood. Although Saspys Lad is also capable of figuring strongly over a trip that should suit as he reverts to the flat after a fair campaign over the winter. In contrast Rutters Rebel has a little to prove regarding the trip and will do well competing against his elders for the first time today. He does have a handy weight-for-age allowance to aid his cause though and is no forlorn hope of filling one of the places if he gets the trip. However, Vicious Prince is a versatile sort that is much better than last season's form figures would suggest and, as there is sufficient cut in the ground, he is taken to do himself justice on ground that should suit.
