In depth
Verdict
Deserted Dane can land the finale; the list of dangers is headed by The Nifty Fox and Jilly Why. The selection ran well last time when finishing a close third behind Royal Envoy over this course and distance. He should come for that run and with ground conditions to suit he has an obvious chance. The Nifty Fox finished just behind our selection that day and he is a pound better off at the weights here, so there shouldn't be much between them at the finish. Jilly Why won well at Nottingham last time and this mare arrives here in good heart. She has already won twice this year so she is clearly on good terms with herself and it will be a surprise if she is not up to making the frame. Malapropism wins in his turn so he can go well at a price, but for the winner we will stick with Deserted Dane.
