In depth

Verdict

Cheeky Girl has produced some consistent efforts lately and deserves to get her head in front here, with Patricia Philomena, Go Sheek and Etching the obvious dangers. The latter is a James Fanshawe-trained filly who makes her handicap debut from a pound out of the weights here, and while her form has been nothing to write home about she has more scope than most of these and cannot be ruled out. Patricia Philomena was always travelling like the winner off a sound pace at Redcar on Saturday. This drop to 12 furlongs shouldn't prove a problem, and she has to be respected. Chevin was set plenty to do in an amateur contest earlier this week and has to be considered with a promising apprentice back aboard. A bigger threat, though, may be Go Sheek, who put an improved effort to finish second at Beverley last time and has decent claims in this company. However, we side with Tim Easterby's Cheeky Girl, who produced a good effort to split Coolbythepool and Bahlino at Beverley last time. This may be an easier assignment and her recent level of form gives her sound claims here under David Allan.
