Verdict

Mahmood Al Zaroony looks to have found a good opportunity to get a win out of BATTLE OF BRITAIN who can prove too good for Lizzie, Irelandisuperman and Volcanic Ash. The selection is visored for the first time for this, his fourth start, and has made the frame in all three runs so far. Trip, ground and draw all look favourable and he has the best form on offer, so with the headgear to sharpen his focus he looks the clear pick, although he may not be one to take too short a price about. Lizzie appears to be the pick of the Tim Easterby-trained pair on jockey bookings. The Acclamation filly is stepped up in trip here, which she should appreciate, while she also has conditions to suit, although she has the profile of a handicapper in-the-making. Irelandisuperman is saddled by locally-based Dandy Nicholls, and this juvenile has already suffered the unkindest cut before making this debut. He is related to some speedy types and a market check is advised. Volcanic Ash needed his first run but like many from the yard he will come on a fair bit for it, and he too should be monitored in the betting with a pedigree that suggests he might go well, though preference is for Battle Of Britain.
