In depth
Verdict
Basserah is given the confident vote here with Rollerbird and Yorkshire Owl rated as the main dangers. The selection gave the impression that she would be suited by the step-up in trip when finishing second behind Kudberne at York last time. Her previous form read well in the context of this race and she should be too good for her rivals today. Rollerbird showed promise on her racecourse bow at Lingfield last season but she failed to build on that on her seasonal reappearance finishing down the field behind our selection at York. She is lightly-raced so there should be more to come but she looks best watched a present. Yorkshire Owl is a well-bred newcomer from the James Fanshawe yard and he is worth noting in the market, but he is probably going to be better over further in time. Some top yards are represented here so if the market throws up any clues then it could pay to take the hint. However, for the winner we will stick with Basserah.
