Verdict

WINTER SOLDIER has had just the one start on the Flat, finishing second over 1m4f in a minor contest in France two years ago. He’s not likely to prove a stable star but could not have been found an easier race in which to make his debut over hurdles and fitness is unlikely to be an issue. Scheu Time had decent bumper form and has shown ability in a couple of starts over timber but he’s not managed to get his head in front so far and is no world-beater. One First Cut won his bumper here and should make the frame, despite a modest effort last time at Gowran but few of the others make much appeal.
