Shrewdoperator had shown very little over timber or fences which is why he was a 28/1 chance when making all over slightly shorter at Cork where he battled on gamely and survived a last-fence blunder. Tomcoole Lad is fast approaching fourteen but has won twice in recent weeks though he's better over further. Fiddlers Bow has won once in 29 starts over jumps but almost doubled his tally at Clonmel in September before reverting to type here three weeks ago. HARD BOUGHT had a tough race when scoring at Galway last month and may have been feeling the effects on this track a few days later. He's had a three-week break and can get back on the winning trail. Bandon Bridge won a couple of points for Jimmy Mangan and is back with him after winning a little handicap at Warwick when trained in the UK.
