Verdict

The versatile DESERT FRIEND was always travelling like a winner on just his second start over fences at Clonmel and can go in again. Mr Saxobeat scored at the same meeting, showing very much improved form on his chasing bow while Sphagnum, who hadn't shown much in his two previous starts over fences, easily beat Some Dove, who runs earlier, at Downpatrick. Too Bright looked one to follow over fences when scoring at Kilbeggan but made errors at crucial stages on a return visit and will need to jump better. Hamundarson ran very poorly at Ballinrobe in May.
