In depth
Verdict
BASS ROCK has always been well regarded and made a bright start to his career with a close third in a Fairyhouse maiden in August when Neon Tiger was a long way behind. He started 2/1 on when beaten a short-head by Bygone Age at the Curragh on his only subsequent start in October and tonight's faster ground is much more likely to suit than the soft going he's raced on to date. Dermot Weld trained Bygone Age and has a live challenger here in Mutamaleq, who showed good speed when looking in need of the run on his return behind Shareen at Killarney. Jembatt was beaten only a head by subsequent winner Miss Velocity at Dundalk in March but disappointed on the same track last month when strongly fancied to go one better.
