In depth

Verdict

Mem O'Rees, who showed ability in two starts in bumpers, got no further than the first flight on his hurdles debut at Lingfield on Wednesday and may be best watched and the vote goes to Cee Cee Rider, with Double Mead rated the pick of the remainder. The selection showed only a modicum of ability in bumpers but stepped up on those efforts when finding just stable companion Katess too good in a novices' hurdle over course and distance. A reproduction of that effort may well suffice for Alan King's gelding. Lucy Wadham's Cornelia is another that has been running with promise in bumpers and could be of interest first time out over hurdles, while Henrietta Knight's French import Markila could be anything and does represent a yard that is in good form now. Henry Daly similarly has his string in good heart so Tambourine Ridge has to be respected on his debut but a bigger threat is likely to come from Kim Bailey's Double Mead who has shown a consistent level of form. Cee Cee Rider looked improved for the switch to hurdles last time though and he gets the vote.
