Verdict

BEFORE BRUCE has hinted at ability on a couple of occasions lately, finishing fifth over a slightly longer trip at Plumpton last time. He could easily be good enough to get off the mark in this very modest handicap with Nicky Nutjob far from certain to reproduce the form he showed when winning an equally dire affair at Hereford in August. There doesn't look much to choose between Richard Guest's pair Catawollow and Pobs Trophy, though the latter has at least won a couple of times under NH Rules albeit a claimer and a seller. The others have much to prove.
