In depth

Verdict

A wide-open seller gets proceedings underway and as usual in these events the market will be very informative but the principals look to be Moratorium, Perfect Storm and Temper Lad and the narrow vote is given to Moratorium. The selection was a fair seventh behind Debest in a better race last time out. This represents a big drop in class and off a fair weight and under conditions that suit he looks the one to be on. Perfect Storm rates the main danger on his best form. He is another dropping in grade but he has looked a non stayer in the past and is taken on with this in mind. Temper Lad is another that could go well as he beat Ghaill Force last time. He escapes a penalty for that win and he could go well at a price. Grave Doubts looks a shadow of his former self, while Red Opera has only had two runs so could improve especially in a first time visor but in a race where stakes should be kept to a minimum, for the winner we return to Moratorium who has plenty of ticks in the right boxes.
