Verdict
This looks a pretty desperate race, so Answered Promise may be good enough on his hurdling debut to get off the mark with Shaydeylaydeh and The Teuchter the others for the shortlist. The gelding hails from a shrewd yard and is sure to have been well schooled for this his hurdling bow. He will be fit from a busy campaign on the flat, and looks a cut above his rivals if he takes to jumping. There is very little to oppose the selection with here, although Shaydeylaydeh may be capable of a bold show after unseating her rider at Fontwell last month. The Teuchter does have the benefit of experience over the obstacles but has shown very little so far to suggest he can win a race, and he was well beaten on this track behind Who Cares Wins last month. Of the rest, Pennillion could be interesting if he is supported in the market, but we are happy to side with Answered Promise.
