Verdict
A good race despite the lack of numbers and one that can go to the versatile Mr Cospector, who holds the edge on recent form over Kock De La Vesre, who has strong form to his name but his jumping has let him down on occasions. The same problems have blighted Gus Du Bois, who likes to race prominently and is a prime candidate for putting the pace to the race today. However, even though he arrives here on the back of a good effort at Fontwell from earlier in the month, he still has a little top prove and may just set things up for a strong finisher. This is where Mr Cospector comes in and he is fancied to be too resilient for Kock De la Vesre today. The selection has really got his act together now after making a modest start to his chasing career a couple of seasons ago. His latest effort in defeating Jungle Jinks at Haydock underlines how much Mr Cospector has improved this term and he is expected to cope with his higher mark without too much trouble in this company today.
