MIDSUMMER MAGIC is selected here ahead of hurdling newcomers Edgevine and Tokahy. Owned by HRH, the selection is expected to carry her penalty to victory. A drop in trip and better ground seemed to suit the selection last time at Fakenham, where she saw off the fair yardstick Mvuto, and with this not looking a strong race she is hard to oppose. Edgevine, a half-sister to Sovietica, didn't show too much in some good bumper races but is not one to take lightly on her hurdling bow, whilst Stewart Pike, the trainer of Sovietica saddles Tokahy today. Ridden by Robert Thornton, she is another hurdling debutant and is a half sister to Edgevine as well. Inge It Is needs to improve for cheek-pieces, whilst Haveyoubeen faces much easier company this afternoon. Flutter Bye has more experience than most and she has some decent form to her name, most notably behind Charmaine Wood on her hurdling debut at this track. Not the strongest of races and it is Midsummer Magic who is preferred.
