In depth

Verdict

Le Vagabond landed a fast-ground maiden at Thurles in October for which he's penalised. He's competed at a higher level on much softer surfaces since and should make a bold bid to defy the extra. Ciao Cielo won three times on the level and made a very encouraging debut over timber at Kilbeggan last month where he only faded in the closing stages. He'll have come on for the experience and should have the measure of Double Windsor, who finished around 5l behind, and Our Lucas, who finished mid-division. Gavin Cromwell had two winners at Punchestown last week and can keep up his sequence with PLAIN TALKING. He'd hinted at ability before scoring over 2m3f on heavy going at Limerick but he's run well on quicker going and looks on the upgrade.
