Verdict

Pylonthepressure, suited by race conditions based on official ratings, has every chance on his fine second in the Mayo National on his penultimate start before failing to cut any ice in the Galway Plate. This is a far more straightforward assignment but he faces a couple of dangerous Gordon Elliott opponents, of which BARRA makes greatest appeal. He was a desperately unlucky loser when tipping up at the last in the Midlands National two starts back and can take advantage of the 7lb received from the Mullins' top weight. Westland Row arrives in good heart after smoothly landing a Kilbeggan hurdle a handful of days ago and merits respect.
