      Verdict

From a short list containing Amalfi Storm, Lilac and Solway Larkin, the vote goes to Amalfi Storm. Amalfi Storm scores high for consistency and, due to go up by two pounds in future ratings, has to be given solid claims in a modest race. Course and distance winner Lilac ran well from today's mark last time and should be on the premises, while Solway Larkin showed improved form to finish second in a maiden hurdle last time and first-time cheekpieces might eke out some more improvement. Of the others, Shady Anne has dropped to what could be a favourable rating, certainly if running to anywhere near the best of her 2005 form, Royaltea is not the most consistent but she ran pretty well last time and might bag some money, while Precious Lucy could be given a shout if returning to her best form of last year. Overall, though, the vote stays with Amalfi Storm.
