In depth
Verdict
YCCS PORTOCERVO scored for the first time since 2021 when a soft ground winner here last month. He remains well handicapped on form from not too long ago and is equally at home on quicker conditions. His rivals have questions to answer and he looks the safest option. Corran Cross probably needed his latest run after a break and Haut Morvan had wind surgery after being beaten 66 lengths on stable debut following a 600-day absence. Dr Sanderson is still out of form, whilst course and distance winner Pens Man has gone well on three of his last six but failed to complete on two others and was beaten 67 lengths last time. Getthepot has a clear chance on his penultimate start success but fell and refused on efforts on either side of that win. He's still probably the main danger though.
