In depth
Verdict
Football Crazy is given the confident vote in this maiden hurdle race with Castlemore and Dante's Back the others for the shortlist. The selection is useful on the flat and although he is not the most straightforward of characters he should have enough ability to take this. He is unproven at this trip but has shown signs that he will be suited by further, and with this in mind he is taken to score. Castlemore stayed-on well at Ludlow on his return from a break behind Hunting Yuppie last time, and as he should relish the step up in trip he could go well, especially as he is still lightly-raced and open to further improvement. Dante's Back made a pleasing debut under Rules at Hereford last time when second behind Dantes Venture. He will have no trip or ground worries and is the most unexposed in the field so he has to be seriously considered here. Of the rest, Eggmount won well last time and is from a stable in form so is another with claims, but we will stick with Football Crazy as our idea of the winner.
