In depth
Verdict
A competitive opener can go to Native Daisy, who makes slightly more appeal than Kew Jumper and River Mere on these terms. That said, Peterson's Cay and Light des Mulottes are others that have shown ability over hurdles and do not have much to find to get involved at this level over fences. Kew Jumper, who showed a really game attitude when scoring at Huntingdon last week, will no doubt be a popular choice with Mick Fitzgerald doing the steering. However, he also has plenty of weight to carry today and that may be his undoing. A form line through River Mere also hands the baton on to Native Daisy, whose mandatory 7lb penalty can be brushed aside in this company now that she has found out what it takes to force her head in front and stay there.
