In depth
Verdict
Cottingham can finally come good at the expense of Wizard Of Us, Lord Baskerville and Helen Wood. There are quite a few improvers in the line-up, but surely Cottingham can gain due reward here after finding one too good on each of his four starts over timber. Richard Lee's charge, five times a winner on the Flat, seems to handle any ground, and lines up fresh after a break. If there is any justice he can surely go close today. Jimboreal won over hurdles on his final start in France and has shaped well on both outings on British soil. He will be fancied but might just be a shade high in the weights for what he has achieved. Lord Baskerville has topweight to overcome but can boast more experience, while Helen Wood likes to get her toe in and might not appreciate the drying ground. Of the rest, Pee Jay's Dream may be prominent for a while, and Boyastara will command support due to the fact that he represents the Nicholls-Walsh partnership. Further down the weights, Nocivo makes some appeal, but overall we reckon it is about time that Cottingham stopped being a nearly horse and we give him another chance to break his duck.
