In depth

Verdict

Silent Storm gets the vote over Linda's Colin, Million Percent, Councellor and Fremen in a wide-open start to proceedings on the all-weather. Silent Storm has not taken long to hit form this year, coming good again over the course-and-distance last month when given a great ride by Eddie Ahern who produced him through a gap to win going away in the end. A small rise in the weights is hardly likely to hinder his follow-up bid, and although this looks fairly competitive, a fifth course win beckons for Charlie Cyzer's charge. Linda's Colin has been pretty consistent and still appears well treated, but would perhaps prefer another furlong, while Million Percent is also interesting, as he beat the selection by a neck when they last met and is equally well treated here. However, that was over a mile, and he is taken on over this shorter trip. Councellor has been in action on the slower Southwell fibresand surface of late, and Fremen, although likely to strip fitter for his recent return to action, would be suited by further. So, the pendulum swings back to Silent Storm.
