Verdict
THE TWO AMIGOS only finished eighth in this two years ago, behind Time To Get Up but alongside Truckers Lodge. The mud-loving front-runner is 12lb lower now despite having been raised 5lb for an all-the-way success in the Welsh Grand National at Chepstow and could take some pegging back again with David Prichard taking off 5lb. Iwilldoit won the Welsh Grand National in 2021 and returned from a long absence to beat Mr Incredible, who was third at Cheltenham on Thursday, in the Classic Chase at Warwick in January. He should be thereabouts again, despite his big weight, and The Galloping Bear was runner-up in the Eider at Newcastle three weeks ago. Tile Tapper is an improving chaser but his stamina will have to be taken on trust and French Paradoxe looks more of a staying type. Major Dundee was fourth in the Scottish Grand National last season but the novice Scipion makes most appeal of these near the foot of the weights. Guetapan Collonges has a good strike-rate over fences and was a winner over 3m here last time but had every chance when only fourth behind Iwilldoit at Warwick earlier.
