Verdict
Oldrik looks the one to be on ahead of Got The Gift, Synisterdexter and Mossman Gorge. Oldrik is on a retrieval mission here after being stopped in his tracks by a blunder two out at Worcester on his latest start over hurdles back in May. He was equally unlucky on the Flat at Bath three weeks ago when ridden by Jamie Spencer, and is strongly fancied to get all the losses back now that he tackles novice company on just his fourth outing in Britain. Got The Gift trotted up in an Irish point-to-point just over three months ago, and is well regarded, so it would be no surprise were he to take a hand in proceedings. Evan Williams is double-handed with Mr Wiseguy and Synisterdexter, and preference is for the latter on jockey bookings, while of the remainder, Mossman Gorge is likely to benefit from the drop back in trip so is worth a mention. However, Oldrik has been given a cast-iron opportunity to make amends and should take it.
