In depth

Verdict

Rash Moment, Meneur De Jeu and Festive Chimes are the leading contenders with the vote going to the last named. Festive Chimes has been a model of consistency this summer season and won with six lengths in hand around here last time out. The one worry is that she is only four and carries a penalty but if reproducing a mature approach as she did last time she will take some beating. Meneur De Jeu is a head scratcher as he won so well at Newton Abbot over hurdles on his penultimate start but ran a stinker over fences here in the Uttoxter summer national. This is a drop in grade but it may have left side effects. Rash Moment will have needed his first outing of the season so more is expected this time but for the winner we return to Festive Chimes.
