Verdict
The penultimate event on the card looks quite a tight contest, but Pharpost is taken to make a winning reappearance at the expense of Arctic Challenge and Flash Gordon, with Thyne Will Tell also in with a shout. The last named does however need to brush up his jumping, but will have every assistance in the saddle from Richard Johnson. Pharpost meanwhile returns from an absence, but given the recent form of Venetia Williams' stable that should not be a problem. He has taken on good company in the past, and although sometimes not finding too much when let down, this opposition is not as exacting. The three runners below him all race from out of the handicap including Flash Gordon who should nevertheless go well, but a bigger danger could be Arctic Challenge who was galvanised into winning form at Stratford with the aid of cheekpieces. As we said it is pretty tight to call but Pharpost is taken to make a successful return.
