Verdict

A chance is taken on HUNTERS PLOY ahead of Arctic Ben and Fassaroe. The Twiston-Davies team has made their usual strong start to the season and it may be worth chancing your arm with their son of Deploy. He won his sole start between the flags in Ireland in good style and is unlikely to lack for fitness here. Arctic Ben has an unbeaten Rules record to protect having scored in a Ludlow bumper. It may not have been the strongest race but his trainer spent just over 90,000 guineas to buy him back when he went to the sales five days after that win. Fassaroe showed a decent level of form in bumpers although he did have his limitations exposed in Graded company; this is a realistic starting point to his hurdling career. Castellina, Big Burrows, Pipo De Re, Tom Knows and Prince Evelith would all be of interest if the vibes were positive but we'll be hoping that the market speaks favourably of our selection, Hunters Ploy.
