Verdict
A dire affair in which the information from the betting ring must be heeded at all costs. In the absence of that information, Idlewild is served up more in embarrassment than in belief. Idlewild has horrific form figures this term but has shown some form on the surface. If he can be kept interested in proceedings, the race is so fundamentally bad that he has to come here with a chance. Barton Gate has to be the danger. He has not achieved all that was anticipated from it but again has soft ground form and this time, he is being dropped in grade. Knockrigg has form on soft ground and we could jokingly suggest that this is a huge drop in class for him having had days out at Cheltenham in the past. Pilca is likely to be popular in spite of a horrific win ratio. Rated in excess of three figures at one stage - neither Martin Pipe, Ian McInnes or Robert Stronge have quite found the key to her. The Wife's Sister and The Last Mohican are best of the rest. Not a race to dwell on and Idlewild is nominated with minimum confidence.
