Runners towards the head of the weights look in the handicapper's grip and the lightly-raced three-year-olds make more appeal, notably MOKALIF. Michael Bell's colt saw the track three times in June, scoring gamely at Yarmouth before finding things tougher upped in grade at Newmarket. He didn't do badly though with his mid-division finish and should be competitive here receiving weight from older, more exposed rivals. Dr Darcey has a steadily progressive profile too and was only just run out of it at Bath last time. He should take this step up in his stride and rates a threat. Confirmed stayer Dove Cottage appeals from the older brigade and Viviani would have a chance if ready for this first outing of the year.
