Verdict
Full Spate will need things to fall right but he is put forward as the tentative choice with Never Without Me, Carlton and Savile's Delight the others for the shortlist. The selection was a bit of a disappointment last season but did win one race at Windsor when defeating Yomalo. He usually needs a couple of runs to put him right and now that he has had those this season he might be worth taking a chance on. Never Without Me would have a good chance here on the pick of his form, but he is probably better over 5 furlongs so is overlooked on this occasion. Carlton looks to have a good chance but he is proving difficult to win with and he may just have to settle for place money once again. Savile's Delight ran as though he was returning to form at Windsor last month when third behind Mine Behind and he is certainly one of the more likely in the field, but Full Spate is capable of winning this if he gets the breaks at the right time and he is put forward as the one to beat.
