In depth

Verdict

Not a race to get too heavily involved in but Lakota Brave has hit a rich vein of form of late both on the all-weather and turf and completed a four-timer last month with the minimum of fuss. However, a 7lb rise may just be enough to prevent the eight-year-old from going in again on this occasion. Indian Blaze is undoubtedly well treated on his best but is hard to win with these days while Allincala looks weighted up to her best of late so it may pay to take a chance with Alfano. Philip Mitchell's charge won a similar event at Newmarket (now 6lb higher) on his final start last backend and should be ready to strike following two recent all-weather starts, shaping particularly well last time.
